What Is a Full Suspension Mountain Bike?

A full-suspension bike is equipped with both a front suspension fork and a rear shock. In other words the entire frame, handlebars, and seat are a rigid unit that is "suspended" on top of the wheels. They are more advanced alternative to hardtails, which have only a front suspension fork.
