It's not just any carbon fiber frame. But CC carbon - the highest grade with maximum stiffness and strength at minimal weight. Many manufacturers don't bother with carbon frames in the downhill category. Santa Cruz's carbon frames are designed in their very own "Carbon Lab" in California, manufactured in their own facility, and come with a lifetime warranty, even on downhill trails.
